Jimy Tools manufactures and markets professional hand tools, air tools, speciality service tools and workshop equipment, all to represent quality and value as a matter of policy.

All of our products are engineered and manufactured to the highest quality standards and are warranted to be free of defects in workmanship and materials.

Any Jimy Tools products which fail during its normal useful life to perform satisfactorily will be repaired or replaced at no charge, subject to the exclusions set out in these terms.

JIMY HAND TOOLS – LIFETIME WARRANTY

Jimy Hand Tools are covered against manufacturing defects or faulty materials. 

This warranty does not cover overloading, abuse, misuse and normal wear and tear. All Jimy Tools tools are designed for specific purposes and if not used for the intended purpose, they will not be covered by the lifetime warranty.

This lifetime warranty is in addition to what is covered in the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (previously Trade Practices Act 1974) all state and territory laws and regulations and the Fair Trading Act (NZ). Tools that fail due to manufacturing defects or faults may be returned to a Jimy Tools authorised dealer for repair or replacement at the sole discretion of Jimy Industrial Pty Ltd t/a Jimy Tools & Equipment, subject to the exclusions set out in these terms.

JIMY AIR TOOLS – 12 MONTH WARRANTY

Jimy Air Tools are warranted for a maximum of 12 months (12 months for mechanical repair businesses / 6 months for tyre repair businesses), from date of sale. This warranty covers faulty workmanship and materials only. Accessories such as pads, blades, retainer springs, chisels, chucks or any other such attachments are not included.  

All Jimy Tools air tools are designed for specific purposes and if not used for the intended purpose, they will not be covered by warranty. 

This warranty is in addition to what is covered in the Trade Practices Act (Aust.), all state and territory laws and regulations and the Fair-Trading Act (NZ). 

Tools that fail due to manufacturing defects or faults may be returned to a Jimy Tools authorised dealer for repair or replacement at the sole discretion of Jimy Industrial Pty Ltd t/a Jimy Tools & Equipment.

These warranty guidelines supersede all previous warranty guidelines prior to 1st June 2018.

JIMY TOOLBOXES & TOOL KITS – LIMITED WARRANTY

Jimy Industrial Pty Ltd makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability standards and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of ninety (90) days beginning on the date of invoice.

All Jimy Tools Toolboxes are designed for specific purposes and if not used for the intended purpose, they will not be covered by warranty.

This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to:

  1. Misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs
  2. Alterations outside our facilities
  3. Criminal activity
  4. Improper installation
  5. Normal wear and tear,
  6. or to lack of maintenance.

We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental and contingent, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our product.

To take advantage of this warranty, you must complete the following:

  1. Email the Jimy Tools Warranty Department, warranty@jimytools.com.au, with images and a brief overview of your warranty issue
  2. The Jimy Tools Warranty Department will then provide you with further instructions.
  3. When advised, the toolbox must be returned to Jimy Tools, 5 Cord Street, Dudley Park SA 5008, with transportation charges prepaid.
  4. Proof of purchase (e.g., in-store receipt or packing slip/invoice), date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.

If our inspection verifies the defect, we will replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. 

We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.

Jimy Tools must be notified within ninety (90) days of receipt of order should the toolbox fail due to manufacturing defects or faults. Repair or replacement is at the sole discretion of Jimy Industrial Pty Ltd t/a Jimy Tools & Equipment, subject to the exclusions set out in these terms.

EXCLUSIONS

Jimy Tools will not warrant the following items:

  • Cr-V Sockets used on impact guns (not including impact sockets)
  • Circlip Plier Tips
  • Screwdrivers eg which have been misused as chisels or tyre levers
  • Taps and Dies
  • Ratchets that have been affected by normal wear and tear or that have been dented or grooved.
  • Drill Bits & Impact Adaptors
  • Extension Bars, Pry Bars, Breaker Bars and Flex Handles that have had pipe applied for extra leverage or have been stuck with a hammer
  • Cold Chisels and Pin Punches
  • Hexagon Keys
  • Screw Extractors
  • Bolt Cutter Jaws
  • Power Driving Bits and Impact Driver Bits
  • Serviceable parts (including but not exclusive to: bearings, seals, filters, belts, batteries, fluids, fittings, springs)
  • Consumable products (including but not exclusive to: knife blades, hack saw blades, chucks, chisels, pads or any other such attachments).
  • Castor Wheels & Creeper Wheels
  • Toolboxes (if a claim is not made within ninety (90) days of receipt of goods)
HOW DO I MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM OR CREDIT REQUEST?

To make a valid warranty or credit request you must:

  1. Email warranty@jimytools.com.au with details of your claim.
  2. Provide all photographic evidence and batch number details (where applicable).
  3. Once your claim has been assessed you will be contacted with an outcome and further instructions.
  4. Online vouchers to the value of the credit claim will be provided once the credit request is approved. These vouchers are not redeemable for cash.

You are responsible for all costs incurred by you to return the Jimy Tools product to Jimy Tools and all other costs you incur in making a claim under a credit request.

FREIGHT

All products must be returned to the place of purchase or directly to Jimy Tools with a confirmed register receipt or tax invoice clearly showing the date of purchase prior to freight. Jimy Tools may, at its absolute and unfettered discretion, accept any goods submitted for return by the Purchaser and subject to any conditions Jimy Tools wishes to impose on such a return.

If Jimy Tools agrees to accept the returned goods from the Purchaser, the Purchaser accepts that it shall be responsible for payment of all transportation and freight costs, inclusive of transit insurance, in having the goods returned to Jimy Tools. If transit insurance is not purchased Jimy Tools may hold the Purchaser liable for any damage or losses.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

If you make a claim under the Jimy Tools warranty and none of the exclusions set out above apply, Jimy Tools will at its election, repair or replace the Jimy Tools product under warranty and return the repaired or replacement product to the purchaser at a cost to Jimy Tools.

All repairs conducted on Jimy Tools products under this warranty must be carried out by an authorised Jimy Tools repair agent.

CONSUMER WARRANTIES

Jimy Tools products come with warranties that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/warranties

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
